The Manoir de Foussac is nestled in the Vallee de la Dordogne lotoise, in a quiet and relaxing village surrounded by the cliffs of the Causses du Quercy. From the property, you will discover an amazing view over the Cirque de Floirac.The building, an Hospitalet, was built on the bases of a Templars'castle from the 12th century. On the edge of the Dordogne, near the ford crossing of Copeyre, it welcomed the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, the so-called 'Route des Flandres'. It is a place marked with history, of which many architectural details remind the prestigious past: mullioned windows, arrowslits and 16th century fireplaces. The manor is surrounded by a vast garden planted with fruit trees (fig trees, walnut trees, plum tree) and embellished with many rosebushes. 250 m away, the Dordogne gently flows and offers a rural setting for swimming or walks between the walnut trees and the river. The large heated pool is open from april to the end of September. The Manoir de Foussac is divided into 3 gites: La Tourelle for 6 persons, l’Atre for 8 and Le Castellou for 14. The layout of the place provides to each gite a garden area that is naturally dedicated to it, and each of them has its own garden furniture and barbecue. The beautiful bread oven, located in the park, hides the pool engines (heat pump and filtration system). You can rent all the gites together in order to privatise the property for big family reunions for instance. The gites of l'Atre and Le Castellou can communicate from the inside. |
